Türkiye Honeymoon Tour for Indian Couples

A 9-day private Türkiye honeymoon for Indian couples: Istanbul, a Cappadocia sunrise balloon and a beach finish in Bodrum or Antalya, with e-visa conditions.

Duration: 9 days 8 nightsRoute: Istanbul, Cappadocia, then Bodrum or AntalyaBest season: April to June, September to November (Bodrum May to September)

Who this tour is for

This tour is built for newly married couples from India who want romance without a crowded schedule. It follows the classic honeymoon arc: a few days in a city of domes and minarets, two nights in a cave hotel with a balloon flight at dawn, and a slow finish by the sea in Bodrum or Antalya. Nothing here is rushed. Mornings are free where it counts, and the busiest sightseeing is front-loaded so the beach days arrive when you are tired.

We build it privately: one car, one guide when you want one, and none when you do not. Couples who prefer to wander alone can do so, with a guide on call.

Spring and autumn suit most couples. If you are travelling soon after your wedding, build in a day to rest after the flight. Honeymooners who want an all-beach holiday could consider only the coast section, but Istanbul and Cappadocia are what makes the trip memorable.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul

Direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore are available [1]. You are welcomed at the airport and taken to a hotel in the old city or near the Bosphorus. In the evening, a quiet Bosphorus cruise past the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Dolmabahçe Palace [2], followed by dinner with a view if you wish.

Day 2: Old Istanbul

Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and Topkapı Palace, finishing at the Grand Bazaar [2]. Tea and baklava in a quiet courtyard afterwards.

Day 3: A free day in Istanbul

No fixed plan. Options include a ferry to the Asian side, the Spice Bazaar, İstiklal Street, or a traditional Turkish bath for two.

Day 4: Fly to Cappadocia

A morning flight of about 1.5 hours to Kayseri or Nevşehir [2]. A transfer to Göreme follows, and you check into a cave hotel. At sunset we walk to Uçhisar Castle or Sunset Point [2].

Day 5: Sunrise balloon

The balloon rises before dawn above the fairy chimneys [2]. In the afternoon you can walk through the Devrent and Paşabağ valleys, visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum and see the pottery village of Avanos [2]. A private dinner on a terrace is optional.

Day 6: Fly to the coast

Fly from Cappadocia to Antalya [3], or connect through Istanbul to Bodrum. A relaxed afternoon by the pool.

Day 7: Beach day, Antalya or Bodrum

In Antalya, a sunset walk at Konyaaltı or Lara beach and a picnic at the Düden Waterfalls, with an optional private yacht trip [1]. In Bodrum, Bodrum Castle and a stay at the beach clubs in Yalıkavak [1].

Day 8: Boat day

A private boat trip along the coast: swimming stops and lunch on board. From Bodrum, a chartered boat can reach the Greek islands of Kos or Rhodes, subject to visa rules [1].

Day 9: Departure

Airport transfer and your flight home.

Highlights

  • Dawn balloon over Cappadocia, with a rebooking option if the weather turns

  • A beach finish: Antalya's waterfalls and old town, or Bodrum's castle and bays
  • Vegetarian and Jain meals arranged ahead, and Indian restaurants in Istanbul [1]
  • Time for the two of you, with no fixed group schedule

Practical notes

  • E-visa conditions for Indian passport holders: Indian nationals, together with Bhutanese and Nepali nationals, can use the e-visa only if they hold a supporting document. That means a valid visa or a valid residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland [4]. Used or unused visas are accepted, provided the validity covers the date you enter Türkiye [4]. An e-visa from another country is not accepted as support [4]. Each traveller needs their own supporting document, so check both passports before you pay. Carry the original supporting document to Turkish immigration, since airlines will not board passengers whose documents do not meet these rules [4]. If the supporting visa is in an old passport, you can still use it, provided its validity covers your entry date; register the e-visa on the current passport and carry the old one [4].
  • E-visa terms: The e-visa is for tourism or commerce [4]. It is described as single-entry and valid for 30 days [5]. Keep a soft or printed copy [6]. Couples without a qualifying visa apply for a sticker visa at a Turkish embassy or consulate [5].
  • Season: Spring (April to June) has mild weather and flowers, and autumn (September to November) has fewer crowds [1]. Bodrum works best from May to September [1]. Winter suits snow lovers more than beach lovers.
  • Balloon: Around 25 to 30 per cent of flights are grounded in a year because of wind; the authority decides each morning, and a cancelled flight normally gets a refund or a rebooking on the next available morning [7]. With two nights in Göreme, we book the first morning.
  • Flights: Operators mention direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore [1]. Domestic flights connect Istanbul, Cappadocia and the coast [2][3].
  • Clothing: Light clothes for the coast, a warm layer for dawn balloons, and a scarf for mosques.
  • Money: Take an internationally enabled card. A little local currency helps in bazaars.

Frequently asked questions

We are both Indian passport holders with only a US visa for one of us. Can we both use the e-visa? No. The supporting document is checked per traveller, so each partner needs their own qualifying visa or permit [4]. The partner without one would need to apply for a sticker visa at a Turkish mission [5]. We recommend deciding this before booking flights.

Bodrum or Antalya? Antalya is easier by air and offers old-town charm, waterfalls and long beaches. Bodrum is quieter and more design-led, with a castle and beach clubs, and it is best from May to September [1]. We help you choose based on travel dates and mood.

Is Türkiye comfortable for vegetarians? Largely yes. Vegetarian mezze are widely available [1], and Indian restaurants operate in Istanbul [1]. We brief hotels and restaurants about vegetarian and Jain requirements in advance.
